Senior Accountant

Indianapolis, IN

The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) has a new opportunity for a Senior Accountant in our Accounting/Finance Department. This position will provide accounting services to support financial operations for NAMIC and multiple affiliated entities while working closely with department leadership to produce financial statements and reports.

 Essential functions of the position include:

  • Maintains general ledger and reconciles accounts for assigned entities.
  • Prepares monthly financial statements and variance analysis for our Association Services clients and other assigned entities.
  • Compiles data for annual audits and completes annual tax filings (Form 990, 1099’s, 8872 etc.)
  • Assists with budgeting process for outside clients.
  • Assists with Positive Pay records and other transactional banking.
  • Works closely with Senior Vice President of Association Services to establish desired scope of work for financials and presents financials at board meetings for assigned entities.

 Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with multiple company accounting required.
  • Understanding of complete accounting cycle.
  • Great Plains and/or Sage Intacct Experience preferred.
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background and MVR check.
